Description

How can a generation imagine a future worth fighting for in a world increasingly shaped by uncertainty and crisis?

This question inspired the Munken Agenda 2027, Silver Lining, created in collaboration with 23 design students from École des Arts Décoratifs – PSL in France.

Developed over six months by second- and third-year students, the project explores the idea of finding optimism even in difficult circumstances. The students chose to draw the silver lining, inspired by the bright edge of a cloud illuminated from behind, a symbol of hope and possibility.

Using the surrealist technique cadavre exquis (exquisite corpse), each student's illustrations build on those of the others, creating a continuous visual narrative that celebrates individual expression and collective creativity.

And the final contribution is yours. Blank spaces throughout the agenda invite readers to add their own words, drawings and reflections, becoming part of the shared story.

Where creativity meets paper

The agenda is printed on four distinctive Munken papers: Munken Pure Rough, Munken Polar, Munken Lynx Rough and Munken Kristall, all in 120 gsm. Each paper brings its own character and tactile qualities to the creative experience.

Produced by Langebartels + Jürgens in Hamburg, Germany, the agenda features five-colour printing on both sides, including metallic silver and vibrant fluorescent colours. The 300 gsm Munken Polar cover is finished with matt lamination, glossy silver hot foil lettering and an embossed Munken logo. Exposed spine thread-sewn binding completes the design.

More than a calendar, Silver Lining is an invitation to imagine, create and contribute to a shared vision of the future.
